The cold draw of the Byron Habaneros has some sweetness it and oyster crackers that has me craving some lobster bisque for lunch. The foot of the cigar has just a tobacco aroma making the star of the show the sweetness at the current point and time.
Once the cigar is lit the sweetness of the cold draw shines through with notes of caramel. There is also slight shortbread note with a wonderful warm graham cracker aroma. There are a lot of subtle nuances going on as well.
In the second third the sweetness begins to fade as some cashews come to play with a touch of leather and citrus. There is a creamy finish with hints of raisin and the introduction of cedar has the third comes to a close. Through the nose the cigar continues to be smooth but there is a faint vanilla on the retrohale.
The last third of the Habaneros sees the wood note become dominant with some sweetness remaining through the nose. As we get past the band, the cigar sees some pepper through the nose. There are some subtitles of nuts, butter and leather throughout the last inch of the smoke.
