Off the foot of the cigar there are some strong cedar notes with a slight touch of raisin. On a deeper sniff, the cedar appears to be more of an oak. Once the cigar is clipped with my double blade cutter the cold draw serves up some wood notes with a hint of citrus and raisins. So far this was the perfect start to my day as I sit at my desk to write this review.
In the first third of the Perdomo 20th Anniversary, I am surprised at the kick that the cigar has for a smoke that had such a mellow cold draw. The notes are a smooth pepper, with notes of citrus, and wood. The pepper fades away within the first inch and the balance of the cigar begins to shine.
The second third of the cigar the wood notes become a well-defined oak, with some coffee and citrus thrown into the mix. Through the nose, there is a nice amount of spice but there is also a nice nutty aroma that compliments the notes from the stick.
As we enter the last third of the cigar there is a sweetness that reminds me of honey joining continued notes of oak and coffee and a slightly nutty finish.
