The cold draw of the cigar is chewy, with notes of chocolate and what first hit me as carrots. The sweetness reins supreme here and it’s very inviting to light up. The foot of the cigar is earthy with some buttery richness. There is a nice yin and yang from draw and foot.
Once the foot is properly toasted the cigar has a buttery smooth flavor profile. There are some notes of butter, earthy and cedar present all of which meld together to create one of my personal favorite Connecticut on the market today. As the first third comes to a close there are some notes of citrus that begin to develop as the butter notes fade away. Through the nose there is some subtle pepper notes.
As we enter the second third of Camacho Connecticut the pepper through the noses gets turned up slightly, if it was a dial we would say it’s around a 3 or 4 in terms of intensity. The citrus notes remain though not as dominant as the close of the first third. The primary profile is earth and cedar and the cigar is exceptionally smooth.
The final third of the cigar develops a sweetness that changes up the cigar considerably and creates a really enjoyable finish. The notes of earth remain with some cedar and the pepper through the nose is considerably less than the last segment.
