Who could ever forget a Byron Cigar, 17th May 2022

Reviewer: Nicholas Skinas

I love the Byron’s 19th. Century Selection and so will you. I decided to get the Epique Poemas 7 X 54 which has been sitting in my humidor for three months. After spending four days in a hospital with no cigars. Today I came home. And that was the time. To light up.
The Byron Petite Poemas is a perfect representation of Lord Byron. This is a classy smooth cigar, that is aged for a year after it has been rolled. The Byron has a cold draw with notes of fig and molasses. Once lit, the cigar is consistent with notes of peppercorn, croissant, almonds, and undertones of sweet molasses and chocolate. Fantastic with coffee.
Rarely do I buy big-buck cigars, but when I do, I will remember that time I spent with that cigar forever.

Amazing Cigar!, 17th Mar 2021

Today I’m celebrating our wedding anniversary and this special day deserves a special cigar. This beautiful cigar comes from Nelson Alfonso and the folks at Selected Tobacco. This particular vitola is 7x54 and comes from their 19th Century collection. Both the foot and the cold draw produce strong notes of blueberries with light tobacco notes in the background. After lighting I’m getting very smooth flavors of berries and cream, cinnamon spice and earth. The draw has some resistance and the smoke output is moderate. As the first third comes to an end the cinnamon spice is picking up along with other baking spices. The other notes mentioned above are still present in the background and remain very smooth. Approaching the halfway mark, notes of bread have entered but the overall profile has been pretty consistent. At the end of the second third, earth, bread and baking spice are the primary notes present. During the final third, the spices continued to ramp up with some white pepper making its way in during the final two inches. Total smoking time was 2 1/2 hours. The burn line remained crisp but a little wavy at times. The overall body and strength was medium. This was an amazing smoke and I’d highly recommended it! With a price tag of $33.50, it is definitely one for special occasions. I’d rate this a 98!
