Reviewer: The Cigar Authority
The cold draw of the Davidoff has hints of graham crackers and mocha that dominate the senses. As an afterthought there is some of that Henke barnyard notes present as well. On the nose the aroma is earthy with a strong cedar and a faint wisp of the aforementioned graham cracker.
Once the cigar there is a subtle burst of pepper that made me sneeze, however once we get settled in the pepper dissipates as an abundance of cedar takes control for the first inch if this cigar. As the cedar begins to subside some notes of nuts begins to emerge with hints of chili peppers on this incredibly smooth and balanced stick.
In the second third notes of chocolate begin to emerge with some of the aforementioned chili peppers. As the cigar transitions to the halfway point the notes of the Davidoff Chefs edition reminds me of Thai spices. The cigar has a long woodsy finish especially when retrohaling the cigar.
The last third of the cigar continues subtle spices and notes of cedar that dominate the palate. There is a faint earth on the finish and the retrohale is nutty with hints of chili peppers on the long finish.
