Worthy of An Aniversario, 15th Mar 2017
Reviewer: The Cigar Authority
The cold draw of the cigar has the typical elements of Henke Kelner with earth and barnyard but there is also a considerable honey like sweetness present while the foot of the cigar mimics that of the cold draw.
Once the cigar is lit, the Davidoff Anniversario has some hearty cedar notes and the slightest elements of spice on the retrohale. The cedar notes surely stem from cedar sleeve inside the tube of the cigar. As the first third comes to a close there is a wonderful sweetness on the aroma.
The second third has the aroma is honey like and as a result some of the honey sweetness on the cold draw and foot begin to show up on the notes of the Anniversary No. 3. There are some subtle spices and an abundance of wood, but the sweetness of honey really brings the notes together.
In the last third of the cigar the earthy components move front and center with notes of hay and a slight building up of spices. The cedar notes remain, but are more of an after thought as well as the sweetness. The cigar remains exceptionally smooth and definitively Davidoff.
