A New Take On A Davidoff Classic, 15th Mar 2017
Reviewer: The Cigar Authority
With the cigar cut utilizing my Jaws V Cut, the cold draw has notes of honey, hay, grass and earth. Meanwhile, the nose from the foot of the cigar has a subtle cedar and honey sweetness.
As we smoke the first this, there is more body on this line then other Davidoff cigars. There are notes of pepper and a charred oak that dominate the palate. There are subtleties of coffee and hay on the finish with an exceptionally smooth retrohale.
On the second third there is a subtle bite that is parallel to the notes of oak. So much so, that I believe this would pair exceptional well with some Cognac. It’s a pairing I will try the next time I am smoking outside of work. Some pepper begins to emerge on the retrohale with a finish that becomes earthy and long.
The last third sees the oak notes fade away, as a strong wheat develops. There is some earth and coffee on the palate. The pepper continues on the retrohale with nuances of earth and nuts on the length dry finish.
