A Cigar With Cojones, 15th Mar 2017

The cold draw of the C.O. Jones is spicy with hints of cedar. There is a milk chocolate like component as well, that offsets the bite from the hearty spice. The aroma off the foot reminds me of rhubarb, wasabi and cedar. I’m eager to light this up.
Once the cigar is lit, there is an abundance of pepper, and the retrohale is like a burst of wasabi. There are notes of coffee, and cedar that create a balance to the spice. The cigar is reminiscent to Cain for me, although it is made in the Dominican Republic.
Moving on to the center part of the cigar, the primary notes are cedar with a touch of coffee and black pepper. The retrohale still reminds me of having a little too much wasabi when enjoying a piece of sushi. It’s eye watering but it enhances the subtle nuance of pepper that exists on the palate.
As the cigar comes to a close, notes of cedar and nuts close the cigar out. The pepper remains on the retrohale although the eye watering wasabi component has left the building.
